At the time of the Polish social regime, a security officer is promoted to work at a prison yard. Introducing concurrently with the narrator| he speaks of himself, his thoughts, his point of view. He tells that he is not afraid of bandits or gangs| on the contrary he gets a kick out armed conflicts. To get a start in his new duty, he shops for a watchdog| and he buys an untrain...。童年时代家庭四分五裂，长大后与母亲（药师丸博子 饰）关系紧张，整天浪荡社会，惹是生非，无业青年长谷部泰之（二宮和也 饰）好不容易找到一份工作，可是在应聘的前夜却因一场殴斗，逃跑时意外摔伤，导致下半身瘫痪，从此再也无法站立起来，轮椅将成为他毕生的伴侣。新生活还未开始便戛然而止，这令泰之倍感绝望。在心理咨询师南英明（伊势谷友介 饰）、病友以及周遭所有人的鼓励下，泰之积极参加康复训练，并渐渐重拾生活的希望，命运之神重新向他展露笑容…… 本片根据心理咨询师长谷川泰三的自传体著作《（生命的咨询）命のカウンセリング》改编。。
