The question remains as relevant today, as it was 80 years ago, and its urgency is tragically manifested in the current event...。远在贵州崇山峻岭间的金沙驿站破破烂烂，人烟罕至。驿丞石仪咆（吴宗宪 饰）和卜得辽（雪村 饰）、曾武了（吴孟达 饰）终日无所事事，或靠打猎或靠说冷笑话打发时光。这一日，仪表不凡的玉树（高虎 饰）和馨馨（林心如 饰）到达驿站，接着押解要犯的官差也随后抵达。各色人等相继云集驿站，石仪咆兴奋之余却不知杀机四伏。 原来明朝嘉靖年间，奸相严嵩把持朝纲，陷害忠良，祸国殃民。时有御史张应龙（韩震华 饰）屡次参劾严嵩，反糟奸相憎恨，陷罪乌有，发配边陲。为庸除后患，严嵩密令心腹于此地杀害张应龙。张之女馨馨为救父亲跟随至此。一场大战在所难免……。
