故事发生在东北某山区的老爷岭一带。日本在侵华的过程中，在此建造了一座化学武器库。日本军官畸田为了保护化学武器库，屠杀了整个靠山屯，小喜子等几个孩子侥幸脱线，加入了抗联队伍。其后，这些孩子多次寻找日军的化学武器库都失败了，但他们并不气馁不服输，终将日军的化学武器库给炸毁了。。The story takes us back to 1889, in the wake of primary school teacher Louise Violet who is sent to a village in the French countryside to enforce Republic schooling (which is free, compulsory and secular). It’s a mission which secures her unpopularity, among children and parents alike…。
