辛小杰是一名刚刚毕业的大学生，从小痴迷相声，踏入社会后一直没有找到理想的工作，一次偶然机会得知电视台举办相声大赛，于是四处找搭档参赛。在损友姬大攀的精心策划下弄巧成拙，和超市促销员田丝丝最终搭档成功，于是辛小杰用尽各种奇葩办法训练他们。并用公式计算相声剧本，遭到了姬大攀的反对后离开团队。剩下辛小杰和田丝丝继续坚持，一次在茶馆试演，遇到隐匿市井的相声高人衡先生，在衡先生的指导下二人相声水平大幅提高。比赛开始后，辛小杰和田丝丝历经层层磨砺最终杀入决赛，决赛上台前田丝丝为了救心脏病发的衡先生突然离场。姬大攀及时补位。二人发挥出色获得冠军，却被对手诬告取消资格。最终大家解除误会在一起融洽的演出、生活。。The film, which marks the directorial debut of singer-turned-actor Luke Goss, is currently in post-production.
