Be it for money, as is the case of Italo - president of the Sporting team who bet everything he has left on the final result| be it for honor, as is the case of coach Bulla - who has never won a title his whole life| be ...。1944年4月，为挽回在太平洋及南亚战场的败局，打通交通线，日本帝国主义悍然对我发动了抗战史上规模最大的豫湘桂战役。很快，日军攻占了长沙，危及桂林。为了保卫桂林，国民党当局组织了桂林保卫战，并成立了以黎明江为队长的突击队。在中共桂林地下党人的帮助下，突击队与日本特务斗智斗勇，成功地保护了来华访问的美国特使，用反间计使日军炸毁了无用的秧糖机场，挫败了日军企图用灵渠运送作战物资的计划，打击了日寇。为了保卫桂林，全体突击队员与日军展开了激烈的战斗。最后，由于兵力不足，桂林失陷，黎明江等人壮烈殉国 。。
