Fårö Document 1979 is the ten-year followup to the first documentary Bergman made about his adopted home, Fårö, where he filmed many of his best works and lived until the end of his life。村霸张富贵欺辱木匠陈忠，克扣其重病妻子的救命钱并施以暴行。妻子含恨而亡，陈忠以生命为咒，施展木匠厌胜之术。张富贵宅院怪事频发，他虽寻得帮工小刘帮助破局，终在得意之际发现，自己亦迎来最恐怖的报应。。
