居住在意大利的卢西奥·弗尔兹（卢西奥·弗尔兹饰，也是本片导演兼编剧）脑子时常会有谋杀案的场景出现，于是他边去拜访了一位心理医生（大卫·L·汤普森饰），两人一起寻找答案，结果却发现事情远远不是如他们所想的那么简单……。提姆（杰夫丹尼尔饰演）是个很有企图心的电视新闻记者，可是他却得不到老板的赏识，某次回家的路上，竟遇上火星人的太空船撞上地球！转化地球人外观的火星人马汀，为了修复太空船，只好找上提姆，提姆与马汀相处越久，越发觉它其实是个善良的外星人，但因为马汀的行为怪异，不知不觉被太空研究中心小组成员盯上了……。In the not-so-distant future, genetically enhanced dogs are sent across the universe in search of a new home for the human race. It's a giant cosmic game of fetch, as the canines seek a planet that will save humanity and more importantly let them return to their beloved owners.。
