At first feted and later rejected by bourgeois society, Baal roams through forests and along motorways, greedy for schnapps, cigarettes, women and men: ‘You have to let out the beast, let him out into the sunlig...。抗日战争时期，杨晓冬被派到古城领导地下工作，他亲自散发抗日传单，面斗伪省长吴赞东，智斗蓝毛护送首长过封锁线，反抢粮夜闯伪商会，入虎穴只身说服伪团长关敬陶起义。在他的领导下，韩燕来、小燕、周伯伯、武工队的梁队长、膘子等古城地下工作的战员，组成了抗日的坚强堡垒。。
