此版《源氏物语 千年之谜》由鹤桥康夫执导，不仅使用CG，还加入动作场面和科幻效果，制作费用高达十亿多日元(折合人民币7千8百多万)，于2011年12月10日在日本全国公映。 影片把原著作者紫式部(中谷美纪 饰)身处的平安时期与光源氏（生田斗真 饰）所在天下相交错，两条线 索并行。一个空间中紫式部受藤原道长（东山纪之 饰）任命开始创作《源氏物语》，并与藤原道长发生了爱情牵绊。另一个空间是紫式部创作出的光源氏与藤壶女御（真木阳子 饰）、六条御息所（田中丽奈 饰）、夕颜（芦名星 饰）等众多女性的爱情纠葛。在关闭的创作进程中，紫式部现出了灵魂出窍的状态，与笔下对光源氏陷入苦恋而化为生灵的六条御息所的灵魂重叠。阴阳师安倍晴明（洼冢洋介 饰）发现了这个情况，开始追踪生灵……。After six months of scientifically advanced training, three of the world's most elite distance runners set out to break the two-hour marathon barrier.
