Comedy about the proverbial genie who comes out of a bottle (a table lamp in this instance) to serve his new master. The only problem is that instead of helping his master, the genie (Burl Ives) tends to get his master (Tony Randall) into more predicaments than he gets him out of.。顶级杀手楚歌（朱雀）为退隐接任务，目标龙泽实为其丈夫顾言宸的隐藏身份。刺杀失败后顾言宸误以为组织追杀妻子而假意离婚保护。助理林雅揭露龙泽身份并嫁祸顾言宸，囚禁折磨楚歌。楚歌带孕坠海逃生识破林雅阴谋。最终夫妻联手揭穿离间计，在坦诚中重获新生。。
