Barnabáš Kos, a triangle player at a symphonic orchestra, is suddenly promoted to serve as the head of the said institution, even though both he and his superiors deem him completely unfit for the task. Encouraged in equal parts by this unexpected recognition and the servile praise of his colleagues, Kos’s modesty starts to gradually vanish. The erstwhile bashful and aloof percussionist quickly becomes aware of the advantages of his new office, and begins to realise his increasingly ludicrous artistic ambitions. Ultimately, the submissive marionette turns into a source of public humiliation, and his astonishing career finds an abrupt end. Orchestra serves here as a microcosm that grotesquely reflects the absurd and tragicomic mechanisms of the paranoid apparatus of power. Eva Näripe。这是一个以明代抗倭平盗为背景的故事，改编自台湾名作家高阳的小说。剧中的几位主要人物在史书中皆在所本。如江南名妓王翠翅、海盗头目徐海、汪直，以及官场中赵文华、罗龙文等。本剧以海盗头目徐海与名妓王翠翅之间的一段生死恋情为经，以官方剿倭平盗为纬，并穿插各个人物之间因矛盾与冲突而造成的许多恩怨情仇。 官方为追剿海盗而疲于奔命，海盗也因此在闽浙沿海流窜掳掠，生灵几为涂炭。之后，官方易剿为抚，由罗龙文穿针引线，利用翠翅与徐海之间的情义，暗中招除了徐海，再由徐海在众盗间巧妙运用，使盗首同意投降。 不料招降之日，赵文华竟食言背诺，杀降求功！事起突然，众盗有被杀者，也有力战脱亡者。徐海、翠翅发觉被出卖，痛心疾首之余，本想亡命东洋扶桑。但徐海被赵文华派人追杀于海边断崖。翠翅忍痛苟话，为徐海产下一遗腹子后，也在徐海丧生之处，跳崖殉情……。
