1916年，内蒙古鄂尔多斯草原上，阴风怒号，大雪纷飞，王府送葬的行列行进在积雪的丘陵间。王爷和福晋为了最后消灭革命的“独贵龙”运动，以王爷“有病”找人替王爷升天为借口，阴谋杀害老一代“独贵龙”运动的领袖敖其尔。敖其尔的儿子——十七八岁的乌力记闻讯纵马赶来，可是没有来得及见父亲一面，敖其尔已惨遭杀害。乌力记誓死要报杀父之仇，老牧民巴彦尔告诉他，好汉报仇，十年不晚！乌力记埋下这刻骨的仇恨，默默地忍受着非人的劳役折磨。。One day, thinking that it will make your wife and friends smile, you shave off the moustache that you have had for the last ten years. Viewers who like their conclusions tidy may rebel, but those who relish outstanding performances in the service of an intriguing idea will be entertained.
