影片根据Solomon Northup在1853年所著传记小说《黑奴十二年》（Twelve Years a Slave）改编。该作来自Solomon Northup亲身经历，他本是一个生活在纽约的自由的黑人，受过教育且已婚。随后遇到两个人，他们许诺在华盛顿帮他找一份工作，当Northup到了华盛顿才发现自己被诱拐绑架了，从此开始了他的奴隶生涯。经历多年磨难才依靠一个好心的加拿大人帮忙送信回家，经过一场诉讼，他重获自由。。After investing all his savings to travel with his son to the World Cup, Lucho is shocked when he learns that the Argentine team gets disqualified from the games. He and a handful of his co-workers, a flashy group of losers about to lose their jobs, decide to take "justice into their own hands", so they devise a plan to steal the celebrated World Cup trophy during it...。黑社会组织成员韦吉祥（刘德华）因突发纷争砍伤仇家丧波惹上麻烦，在曾心仪许久的大律师Sandy（梁咏琪）的帮助下，他的麻烦得以摆脱，丧波被判入狱五年，但他的妻子亦被人撞死。独自抚养爱子大洪（余文浚）的韦吉祥拙手笨脚，与大洪摩擦不断，幸得红颜知己Ruby（关秀媚）从中调解，两人关系渐变和谐。 为了大洪，韦吉祥有心退出江湖，令组织老大对他越来越不爽。丧波刑满出狱，与组织老大联合起来展开复仇行动，身不由己的韦吉祥只能勇敢地站起来应战，然而一切还是无法控制越变越糟糕。。
